- Kidney stones
- Interstitial cystitis: A chronic bladder condition that causes frequent urination and pain.

- Pelvic floor muscle spasm or tension

- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
- Prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland, specific to males)
- Pregnancy complications
- Post-operative or post-traumatic pain
